What The Chamber Does
The Rogue River Chamber of Commerce is a volunteer group who work to support local businesses and the community we live in. During the course of the year, the Chamber is proud to be a part of the following events:
- Quarterly Greeters Meetings
Hosted each quarter by a different local business, the Chamber Greeters Meetings are a great way for the Chamber businesses and other members of the community to get together and share information about our businesses and about the events that concern all of us. Always informative and fun, we look forward to seeing new faces at the Greeters which are held the third Thursday of each month. For a schedule of upcoming Greeters Meetings, click here.
- National Rooster Crow Weekend
Each June, Rogue River hosts the National Rooster Crow Competition. The Chamber of Commerce, City of Rogue River and Rogue River Kiwanis host this weekend-long celebration which brings visitors from all over the northwest. Fun, food, and entertainment make this weekend a must-attend for residents and visitors alike. If you would like more information regarding booth space, placing an ad in the Rooster Crow booklet or general information, please call us at (541) 582-0242. We will be happy to assist.
In addition to the actual Crowing Competition (yes, over fifty roosters actually do line up and compete to see who can crow the most times in a 30-minute competition), there is a large parade, free entertainment for children, food booths, the "Human Crow" competition, and live bands. On Sunday we host the increasingly popular Rooster Crow Car Show which has become a fantastic addition to this fun weekend. Car Clubs are Welcome!
The National Rooster Crow Championship is annually held the last Saturday in June. To see the date for this year's Rooster Crow Championship, please see our Calendar of Events.
- Miss Rogue River Scholarship Pageant
The Chamber sponsors the Miss Rogue River Scholarship Pageant. This event helps young women develop their leadership, presentation, and performance skills in a confidence-building environment. It also lands the 1st place winner $1000, 1st runner up $500, and the 2nd runner up $250 in scholarship funds that the winners may use at the University or school of their choice.
- February 27th 2010: Annual Crab Feed Fundraiser. An evening of music, spirits and great food! Proceeds benefit the Miss Rogue River Scholarship program. Tickets do sell out, so purchase them ahead of time.
- May 1st, 2010 (Saturday): Chieftain Track & Field Classic. Some of the top Athletes in the State will gather at the R.C. Gail Track and Field complex at Chieftain Stadium to compete for both individual and team awards in a wide variety of events. The Rogue River Chamber of Commerce is proud to sponsor this event to help bring families into the community and promote our members. Chamber Members will have the opportunity to hang thier business banners on the track and field fence.
- Christmas Lights and Tree Lighting Ceremony

The Chamber prepares the lights and works with the great people at Pacific Power, Logan Design to get our decorations up and bring our Downtown to life with the joy and splendor of the holiday season. We also coordinate the Tree Lighting Ceremony downtown in early December to help get the community together for the holidays.
